Halaila Hazeh is a pluralist Haggadah reflecting the variety of Jews that sit at any Israeli family seder.
It is inclusive of all ethnic backgrounds on one hand but also opens people to the contemporary search for personal meaning and spirituality in new key. Its classic text reflects a loyalty to tradition and yet its many add-ons offer a bridge to those deeply alienated from rote religious formulae.
Rather than a text-bound commentary on the Haggadah for scholars or for beginners, it offers a rich menu of resources for creative readings and fun activities for adults and children, stimulating thematic discussions on Pesach themes and multiple artistic interpretations of topics such as the Four Children. Each classic text has been linked to value questions regarding tradition and rebellion, freedom and slavery, identity and national destiny as well as a particular sensitivity to the poor and the stranger (including the Israeli exploitation of foreign workers and in particular women).
This is a Haggadah to learn from, to celebrate and to grow with - both for adults, for teenagers and for children.
